Snot A Problem

Posted by Brian On July - 29 - 2008

Yummy phlem

I can tell you with all honesty, I’ve consumed more phlegm, snot, boogers, and other various mucus like substances in the past week then any normal human should ever have to in a lifetime. Now that I’ve got the disgusting details out of the way, we can move on.

I had a bit of a minor cold this whole last week, and as any good husband would do, I passed it onto my wife and child. So I imagine you’re asking yourselves, “What does this have to do with Substance TV?” Well, because my nose was clogged up with all this junk, I was not able to record voice overs for the sixth episode of Substance TV. Everything is still on schedule, but I’m just a bit behind. Hopefully I can get things finished up in time and ready for you fine folks.

And yes, I’m doing much better and the entire family seems to have gotten over it.

“Superior Attack!”

\"Superior Attack!\"

As some of you know, my good friend over at Past To Present has been a big supporter of Substance TV since the beginning, offering downloads of videos and helping get the word out about the show before I even thought of getting a website. Well now his site has gone through a major upgrade and a name change. Past to Present Online is now Superior Version (www.superiorversion.com).

Now for those not familiar with the site, it’s a favorite of mine for many reasons. For one, they have all sorts of information from beta versions of games, screen caps and videos of unreleased games, and a whole lot of other stuff that has never been seen by us mere mortals. Past that, they’ve got great content on old and new games alike.

Do yourself a favor and check this site out.

Symphony of the FIGHT!

Symphony of the FIGHT!

As you all are probably aware, Konami has announced the new Castlevania game for the Wii will be a versus fighter. As a long time Castlevania fan, the premise made me weak to my stomach, but I pressed on. I wanted to see screens and videos before I wrote off the game.

That day has arrived, and oh how painful it is.

After seeing the footage of the game play in action, I was in shock. I knew it would be no Tekken or Third Strike, but for the love of all that is holy, this reeks worse then a day old zombie. I then remembered the long history of bad localizations Castlevania fans have been treated to here in the States. The games themselves were great, just not the voice acting. So I thought to myself, if the game looks this butt-crack-tacular, what would the voice acting be like? Well, no need to imagine this as my good friend Erik has already envisioned that future, and it makes Skynet look like a paradise. Enjoy!

I vaaant to saauck your bllaaaaaahhhd!

As most of the gaming public, I’m trying to forget the abomination that was the Nintendo press conference at E3 2008. You’ve probably been to a bevy of message boards and websites all with their share of people commenting on this horrendous showing. I’ll not bore you with some contrived witty banter about the terrible games.

Instead, let’s talk about the people who made this showing possible.

MGS: Liquid Declassified

Posted by Brian On July - 14 - 2008

\"That\'s Why!\"

Liquid Snake is one of the most intriguing characters in Metal Gear history, but not much is known about him. Though he only appeared as the main enemy of Metal Gear Solid for the Playstation, he is still treasured and loved by fans throughout the universe. The following video gives us a little look into the true nature of Liquid Snake. These conversations have been kept under wraps by Foxhound, but because of recent changes in government policy, these tapes have become available to the pubic. Enjoy!
