The first Free Play was a big hit. Now it’s time for round two. For September’s Free Play, we’re gonna make it even easier to enter. Not only will you be able to enter by posting comments on the website, but also on our Youtube page.
Since Free Play is all about giving games away, we want you to tell us your worst video game give away or trade. Did you sell your copy of Michael Jackson’s Moonwalker for $3 at a Pawn Shop? Lend your copy of Ikaruga to your cousin never to see it again? Trade your friend a copy of Symphony of the Night for his brand new copy of Wii Music? Whatever it is, tell us your story. Like I said, post a comment here or on our Youtube video, which will be uploaded in the next few days, and you’ll be set.
Of course this is all for nothing if there’s no game involved. This month we’re giving away a game we reviewed in Substance TV episode 8. Not just any game. We’re giving away a brand new, sealed copy of Astro Boy: The Omega Factor for the Gameboy Advance. Since the episode, copies of this game have been harder and harder to find, but fear not, this could be your chance.
Deadline is 12:00 A.M. October 1st so get to it and best of luck!

Though mine isn’t too bad a trade, I still regret it. Back when I was 12, I traded in my copy of Earthbound for Super Ghouls ‘N Ghosts for the Super NES at a local rental store. I say that it wasn’t too bad a trade because Super Ghouls ‘N Ghosts is a very good game, but c’mon….it’s freaking EARTHBOUND! I still regret it to this day…
I remember trade a big number of titles on the genesis and SNES games in garage sales and game retailers in my younger years that I regret doing so now. I was young and needed the cash/credit and had very little to no income. Some of these games being Shining force. I even traded some games for PS1 like Parappa the Rapper that I wish I should’ve kept.
I have been rebuilding my collection since then, though.
One of the dumbest thing I done was I actually gave away my copy of Final Fantasy 7 to my friend for free. I had no clue what I was thinking when I was little. I already beat the game and later my PS1 broke. My parents didn’t allow me to get another PS1. Later one of my best friend asked if he could have FF7 and I knew I wasn’t getting another PS1 anytime soon so I just let him have it. Had to be one of the dumbest things I have ever done.
Rather easy really…Ogre Battle 64: Person of Lordly Calibre for Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. I was young and stupid and thought because I’d already opened the game that it was worthless as a collector’s item. On top of that, my N64 had been stolen when my home was broken into, along with a few other systems. The XBOX had survived the theft, and KotOR looked amazing. After a quick check on EBay…an opened copy of the game goes for 39.99 easy. More than I payed for the game, and much more than I got in the trade. One with the box, instuction booklet, and the guide goes upwards of $100.00 (all of which I had)…but I didn’t think of that. I only thought of I didn’t have an N64 anymore…stupid 12 year old me.

Found a copy earlier in the year at a Game Crazy, sealed, for about 10 bucks. One of my best finds, I’d say.
Good luck to those that enter. This game is absolutely fantastic.
This game is awesome and is worth whatever the market value currently is. Good luck to the person who scores this awesome (sealed) game!
I remember loving this game. I must get it back!
