Arqball Spin

The word “Spin” may soon become a part of our modern tech lexicon with the likes of “Tweet” and “Liked”. That is if Jason Lawrence and Abhi Shelat have anything to say about it. They’ve developed a new app for the iPhone called Arqball Spin 3D.

What is a “Spin”? Spins are interactive visualizations of a 3D object you can zoom in, zoom out, and spin around. It mimics the experience of touching the real physical object on your mobile, tablet, or laptop. The program takes pictures at set intervals as the object spins around. Though what it spins on is the issue. To achieve a high-quality visualization requires some form of motion control. Hence the need for a standardized platform from which to create a “spin”

It’s a very cool piece of tech that has a lot of viable applications. Here’s hoping they get the funding to move forward with this project. You can find out more by visiting their Kickstarter page.
