While the movie The Amazing Spider-Man isn’t set to release until the July 4th weekend, that hasn’t stopped producers Avi Arad and Matthew Tolmach from discussing the future for their universe, and who to expect in an almost guaranteed sequel to one of this years most curious movies. In an interview conducted with hollywood.com‘s Matt Patches both producers showed a strong interest in fleshing out the story of Eddie Brock. Here is what they had to say.

“It’s an Eddie Brock story, We want to be as close to the comics as possible. Especially in Eddie Brock’s story. But again, pseudo-sceince is becoming science. All these tidbits about webs, artificial webs, is a huge industry now. Spiderwebs have unique qualities that will be huge for communications, fibers, and so forth. So we have taken the approach that we want to make the huge amazing movie about Eddie.”

After the complete blunder that Sony made when attempting to depict Venom in Spider-man 3, I am interested to see Eddie and Venom be given the proper treatment. Then again, I am still waiting on my Spider-man movie starring Bruce Campbell as Mysterio

Either way, go see The Amazing Spider-Man later this summer, and be sure to check out our thoughts on the movie when it hits theaters.
