When I ask people what games they are hyped for this year, I hear a lot of the usual suspects. There’s Gears of War 3, Elder Scrolls Skyrim, Batman Arkham City, Uncharted 3, and Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword just to name a few. While I’m pumped and primed for a few games on this list, none of them can hold a candle to the atomic bomb of gaming goodness that is Radiant Silvergun. Radiant what you say? Well let me explain…

Radiant Silvergun hits the Xbox 360 September 14th!
Why the hype for Dead Island?
I first heard about Dead Island a few months ago in passing. I didn’t think much of it at the time. I watched a few cinematic trailers and was mildly interested. Though any curiosity I had quickly fizzled once I did a little research. On the surface it’s yet another FPS style game with zombies. The main twist is the introduction of an open world element with co-op. Alright sounds fine and dandy, but there are some glaring issues I have to address.
My magical Sunset Riders arcade trip
As many of you might know, a few weeks ago I became the proud new papa of a Neo Geo 6-slot MVS cab. And let me tell I am a happy man. Well at least I thought I was.
But down in my core, I was still empty. I knew what this feeling was. The need for a dedicated Sunset Riders arcade cab. I previously owned a Sunset Riders cab but it was originally a dedicated “King of Rings” converted to play Sunset Riders, so weaksauce.
I sold that cab in hopes of one day finding my dream dedicated machine. Well that day finally came. While lurking on Craigslist I saw a guy selling off a bunch of machines. I skimmed over the listing and the words “SUNSET RIDERS” popped off the screen. I looked at the pictures and saw it was indeed a dedicated machine! Oh happy day I thought. I hesitently sent an e-mail equiring how much he wanted. He shot back an e-mail and said he’d take $150. I squeeled like a wee school girl.

The online co-op blues
I can remember back in college when Erik and I would spend our Friday nights playing video games. We played everything. Though our favorite type of games were always co-op. Those titles made you work together as a team to reach a mutual goal. Sure we’d have a few good versus matches against one another, but we always came back to the loving arms of co-op.
Thanks to the wonders of the modern internet, Erik and I can still game in spite of our different area codes. We can once again play games together. There’s just one tiny problem. A void in the online gaming market: online co-op gaming. It’s shocking how difficult it is to find a good online co-op game. Erik currently owns a PS3 and Wii. He owned a 360 at one time, but when it red ringed for the umpteenth time, he gave up. Regardless, it shouldn’t be this hard to find fun online co-op games! Read the rest of this epic article! »
