Boomzies #14 (part 1) – The Anatomy of Video Games
In part one Boomzies #14 we take a look at the highly anticipated Dragon Quest X. With the announcement of a required internet connection and usage fees, has the Dragon Quest series strayed too far? Metal Gear Solid HD and Zone of the Enders HD collections coming to PS Vita!
I’ve been more then a little excited about the announcement of both the Metal Gear Solid HD collection and the Zone of the Enders HD collection coming to the PS3 later this year. Though it’s just been announced at TGS, and confirmed via Konami’s Metal Gear Solid fan page, that both collections will also be coming to the PS Vita! This is huge news for me as the ability to play these titles portably sounds supremely epic. That and the possibilities of linking up with your PS3 via cloud saving to play on the go and at home makes me happy like a little French school girl.
Now before you all get too excited, this has only officially been announced for Japan. Though if I were a betting man I’d say these games will also be coming Stateside. Until then I shall pray unto the golden statue of Kojima.
BTW: If Sony can keep putting out great games for the Vita, I’ll be hard pressed not to buy one. Nintendo take note, this is how you get people excited about a system. Not gimmicks and gizmos but good games.
Boomzies #12 – Sports Game Stagnation
DC’s comics has pulled a redux with it’s newly rebooted franchises: Action Comics. Is this new interpretation of Superman true to form or a lack luster retelling of the original? Then in our main topic were talking about the sports game genre. In a world dominated by a boatload of Madden and sports simulation titles, has this genre stagnated into the same tired routine?
Meet the official FemShep for Mass Effect 3
A few weeks ago Brian and I did a Boomzies edition where we started things off with the Mass Effect 3 voting issue over the default version of female Commander Shepard (FemShep as she is known). I didn’t realize at the time that the voting wasn’t over. Apparently there was so much outcry about them choosing a blonde FemShep that the BioWare decided to reopen the polls to vote on her hair color. I guess the first round was only about face and hair structure. This past Saturday BioWare unveiled the new FemShep and I for one was pleasantly surprised.
Find out what the new FemShep looks like after the jump!
