Pinekast 22: METAL GEAR!

Posted by Brian On June - 30 - 2009

!

I have to admit I’ve been excited about being on this weeks Pinekast because we’re chewin’ the fat over the game of the month: Metal Gear Solid. Metal Gear is a series that has been around as long as I can remember, and Metal Gear Solid was quite a turning point for the franchise. It turned it from a decent series here in the States to a system selling juggernaut. It was quite an interesting discussion as there were a few who never played the game, so they had a fresh perspective on everything. While Tenno just didn’t really care to play the game, but that’s just Tenno and we love him regardless. :)

It’s time to put on your infinite ammo bandanna and listen to Pinekast number 22.

BTW: For fans of Substance TV, some details about episode 10 and the big changes are revealed along with some other details you won’t hear about anywhere else.

P.S. Although most of what is said in this podcast is the truth, I must warn you of a lie. There are those people, who will go unnamed, who think Metal Gear Solid 2 is a bad game. Do not believe these people. They eat baby seals and use hummingbirds to inject themselves with drugs. They speak of hate and lies. Metal Gear Solid 2 is an amazing game full of love and truth and only the most evil and treacherous person would say otherwise. That is all.

Pleased Pinekast Punch Out

Eye of the tiger baby!

This is a bit late as I’ve been busy with all things Substance TV, but this Monday Pinekast released their 17th podcast covering the sweet goodness that is Punch Out. I was given the honor of being a guest on the show once more to delve into the murky depths. From the beginnings in the arcades, to the newest game on the Wii, it’s all there. I really enjoyed being a part of the podcast and had a great time. I even debut a bit of my golden pipes, and may I say they were quite breathtaking. Go check it out.

METAL SLUG

The fine fellas over at Pinekast have once again invited me to be a part of the crew for a day. Everyone was there, well excpet for Tenno, but he’s a punk who won’t buy a mic (BUY YOUR MIC FOOOO!) In Pinekast number 14 they cover the sweet gooey goodness that is Metal Slug. We wax poetically, if not eloquently, about one of SNK’s most popular franchises. We even mention the game was created by Nazca. But of course the entire interent knows that. I can remember when my Grandfather would regal us with tales of Nazca’s great deeds. Those were the days *sign*.

What I hope you garner from this whole Pinekast is one important and true fact: Stuart Campbell is a twat. After that, all the other facts are secondary.

Enjoy!

BTW: Astra Superstars is amazing. The words Jango speaks are blasphemy. He wants to deceive you and keep the goodness of Astra all to himself. Do not fall for these lies my children.

ROBO BEARS!

Pineksat numero 13 is out, and this week we cover the games of Treasure. Why do I say we, as if to imply me? Well, the boys as Pineksat were kind enough to allow me a guest spot on the show this week as a few of the regulars were M.I.A.. This episode also saw the return of Badly. There were also some techincal issues that made Jango and Tenno sound like freaky intergalactic robots from time to time. Although the audio may be a bit out of whack, it was still a blast. We cover a little bit of everything, and nothing too!

Thanks again to the fine fellas at www.pineconeattack.com for thier hospitality. Make sure to subscribe to them as they are one of the better podcasts out there in my opinion.

Pinekast X!

Look, speakers on my head!

The boys over at Pinekast have themselves some new fangled headset communication devices. This is their tenth podcast! And of course to commemorate this momentus occasion, the boys have chosen a topic so earth shattering that the very forces of the space time continuum may just tear in two. What was their subject?

Well, nothing really.

But that matters not. Just like an episode of Seinfeld, the fact that it’s about nothing is what makes it great. These fine young lads have no need for a subject. They talk about everything, and it’s pretty dog gone hilarious. Even speaking on the proper pronunciation of their respective names.

We here at Substance TV look forward to many more episodes in the future and the lame jokes we’ll make when episode 30 (XXX) comes out. Keep on rockin’ in the free world boys!
