Help bring Diamond Trust of London to the DS

There have been many fantastic Kickstarter projects as of late, but very few of them are centered around delivering an already finished game. Jason Rohrer, developer of some very clever PC indie titles, is looking to do just that.  His latest creation Diamond Trust of London (with a much longer title forced by Nintendo) is a relatively historical diamond smuggling game set for physical release on Nintendo DS.

This competitive game sees each player managing a diamond smuggling operation in Africa. You will spend your time planning flights, managing your cash surplus, and paying agents to carry out your operation. Meanwhile your opponent will be racing to do the same. The true challenge will come in finding ways to slow your opponent down, and that complexity lies in the strategic bribing system.

The loyalty of your agents will constantly be questioned as you can bribe your opponents agents into dishing out information on prices and trading routes. Watching their actions carefully will be key to finding out what kind of information they know and who has been compromised.

Right now putting $35 towards the kickstarter scores you a copy of the game. Spending a little more will land you a individually numbered collector’s edition which also contains actual unique historical objects from the time the game is based on. As a huge fan of these type of deception games, this title is an obvious no brainer. Not to mention this is surely to become an incredibly rare title. Watch the video below, or check out the kickstarter and see for yourself!
