Jane Jensen using Kickstarter to Fund New Adventure Game

While the name Jane Jensen may not mean much to you, I am sure you have heard of one of her many amazing adventure titles that helped shape the adventure genre during the early 90′s. Her most popular series is undoubtedly the Gabriel Knight,  a three part adventure series in which main character Gabriel (Voiced by Tim Curry!) who is both a writer and supernatural investigator discovers he is destined to help protect the world from evil as a member of the Shadow Hunters. The games, rich in historical references, find Gabriel entangled in complex stories involving things such as the Holy Grail, and the Temple of Solomon.

Taking a cue from all of these classic game creators, she has turned to Kickstarter to help gain funding to helm what will be the spiritual successor to Gabriel Knight for the PC. Between this, and the new Double Fine Adventure graphic adventures are definitely seeing a resurgence. What makes her idea even more interesting, is that depending on your donation you will also be entitled to however many adventure are created for each “Season” of development. Sound confusing? Check out her Pitch can be viewed below.

Sounds like an interesting prospect, and judging from how far the funding has come in only a few days, it sounds like gamers are on board too. We will let you know as this project develops. In the mean time… Tell us your favorite adventure game memories in the comments below!
