LEGO Monster Fighters Brings Halloween Early

So I’m perusing the toy section of my local Target…ya know for my kids and all. Because I’m a grown man and it would be silly of me to be looking – alright yea so I was there by myself looking at toys because I loves me some toys. Anyway I also loves me some LEGOs.

In the LEGO aisle I found a new set of LEGOs under the name “Monster Fighters”. These things are supremely cool. I was actually surprised how creepy they were. Skulls, bones, vampires, ghosts, and all kinds of monster trappings. These look like the kind of thing a parental children’s advocacy group would have stopped from hitting store shelves.

Now it seems LEGOs have a backstory? In the background story, the monsters attempt to collect these Moon Stones to unleash doom on the Earth by eclipsing the Sun forever, allowing the land of monsters into the minifigure’s realm. A band of Monster Fighters led by Doctor Rodney Rathbone tries to find the stones before the evil Lord Vampyre.

I’ve not really bought a lot of LEGOs recently. It’s not because I don’t love them, they’re just a bit on the pricey side. Though if I had the disposable cash I would pick these these up in a heartbeat. Check out the different sets for yourself. My personal favorites are the Ghost Train and the Vampyre (yes with a “y”) Hearse set with a zombie driver!
